What we believe
One God
We believe that God is the great I AM. He is one, sovereign, perfectly holy, creating and redeeming God, eternally existing in three Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16–17, Matthew 28:19, John 6:27, Romans 1:7, John 1:14, Colossians 2:9, 1 Corinthians 3:16, and Isaiah 44:6)
The Father
We believe God the Father orders all things according to His purpose and plan, He is the creator and sustainer of all things and is the absolute ruler of all that is. (Psalm 145:8-9, Genesis 1, Ephesians 3:9, Romans 11:36, Ephesians 4:6, and Galatians 4:5)
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, who is eternally begotten by the Father, was born of the virgin, Mary. Jesus was in everyway fully man and fully God. Jesus is the Word who was made flesh and is the only and perfect mediator between God and humanity. (Proverbs 8:22-31, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-35, John 1:14-18, 5:16-29, Philippians 2:6-11, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, and Hebrews 1:1-14.)
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit and in His convicting, regenerating, sanctifying and reviving power. He guides and empowers individuals and churches in their service to God and man. (John 14:16-17 & 26, John 15:26-27, John 16:8-14, Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 3:16, and1 Corinthians 6:19)
Bible
We believe in the divine inspiration and the complete trustworthiness of the Bible, its infallible teaching and supreme authority in all matters of faith, practice, and conduct. It is relevant and regulative for all people in all times and cultures. (Matthew 5:18, Matthew 24:35, John 7:17, John 10:35, John 16:12-15, 1 Corinthians 2:7-15, II Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:20-21, and 1 John 2:20)
Sin
We believe that through Adam sin entered the world and therefore brought condemnation to all mankind. All of mankind are now sinners and have incurred both God's holy wrath and guilt. Therefore, everyone is in need of redemption. (Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 2:7-22; Genesis 6:5; Psalm 14:1–3; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; John 3:1-21; John 5:40; John 6:35; Romans 3:9-20; Romans 5:12)
Man
We believe that all people are made in the image of God. As image bearers of God every person has inherent God-given value that should encourage all people to see each other as equally valuable regardless of ethnic or national differences. (Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 9:5-6, and James 3:9)
We believe that there are two kinds of people in the world, believers, and unbelievers. Believers are those who are saved by the grace of Christ and, unbelievers, are those who are under the condemnation of their sins. Those who are saved by God’s grace through Christ are spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ. This spiritual union in Christ is far greater than any national, cultural, ethnic, or biological connection. It is this connection that binds us together in unity. (2 Corinthians 6:14-15, 1 Peter 2:9-10 and Galatians 3:28-29)
Salvation
We believe in the salvation of sinners by God's grace alone, through faith in Christ alone. Salvation is the free gift of God to all who will believe and is only received by God’s regenerating power and is therefore in no way a work of man. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:30; Philippians 1:6; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 9:22)
Church
We believe in the unity and priesthood of all believers who together form the one true church. Scripture commands believers to assemble as the local church and that this is the framework from which God intends his people to gather to grow in the knowledge of Him, worship, fellowship, and train the saints for service. All believers have value and the ability to use their giftedness for the edification of the saints. (1 Peter 2:5-9, 1 Timothy 1:4, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and Revelation 5:10)
Decision Making
We believe in the supremacy of Christ in all our decisions. All followers of Christ are responsible to make decisions that are reflective of Christ’s high calling for our lives. Christians should only make decisions that can be justified by truths revealed in scripture and are therefore giving their best for God’s glory. We believe that as we are being sanctified we will be more in line with honoring Christ in the lives we live. It is every gathering of believers’ responsibility to help fellow Christians with God honoring decisions. (Colossians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 1 Corinthians 10:31, and Ephesians 2:10)
Baptism/Lord’s Supper
We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are two essential parts of Christian gatherings. Baptism is only for those who profess faith in Christ. We believe that baptism is normatively done with a gathering of believers (the local church) but this will not always be the case. The Lord’s Supper is an actual meal that is focused on reflecting on the marvelous work of Christ, our knowledge of Him, and His future return. (Acts 2, Acts 16:29-34, 1 Corinthians 11, and Matthew 26:26-28)
Christ’s Return
We believe in the personal, visible, physical return of Jesus Christ in power and great glory to judge both the living and the dead. We believe that the Scriptures set out only two destinies for humanity: the joyful promise of eternal life for all who have been redeemed by Christ, and eternal punishment and separation from God. (Matthew 24:3, 1 Thess 2:19, 3:13, 4:15, 5:23, 2 Thes 2:1, 8, James 5:7–8, 2 Peter 3:4, 12, and 1 John 2:28)
